Got7 A

“A” is one of those songs where the Got7 boys throw away all of the sexy charm they were oozing in their other videos and just focus on being absolutely adorable.

Story

Just as “A” is a cute song, the music video is no different.  The video starts with the boys going into a shop to look at this girl “A”.  They spend the rest of the video following her around and getting into awkward situations.  For example, stalking her in the store and grabbing the same shampoo bottle.  Not only was it bright ass pink and probably not something they need to worry about with their pretty hair, but poor Mark was getting the stank eye from the customer when he tried to grab his bottle.

One of my favorite scenes was the Got7 boys following the girl through the store.  I actual rewound the video a couple times to laugh about it. It was just too innocent and cute to pass up.

This video had a lot of small details that added either to the story or the overall quality.   The small portion of humor improved the storyline and made it match the feel of the song.  There was also the diversity of the crowd and the filming style.

Costumes and Set

The filming style for this was the first thing I wanted to mention in regards to the set.  The set itself is bright and cheerful, with an old-school diner vibe.  The music video does a great job of showing the viewer that with its quick transitions, while still progressing through the story at a rapid pace.  That may sounds a little strange, but the style of filming and the set really went well together.  In addition, there was actually a diverse group of people in the video and they weren’t pointed out for any specific racial traits, which was a nice change of pace.

The costumes were casual but fun and gave the Got7 boys that ‘boy-next-door’ sort of feel that mixed with the tone of the video.  Because there was so many little nuances and humor throughout the video, it was nice that the costumes didn’t call too much attention to themselves.

Song

“A” has happy-go-lucky sound to it.  It stands out as a track that would easily fit into a summer playlist.  The vocals are well done and emphasized over the music.  The hook is also something that stands out and a lot of fans love singing along at that portion.  There was a good mix of rapping and vocals throughout, without either one feeling too overpowering.

Lyrics

It’s not working, so stop fronting
I know you want me, let’s start talking

Hey I already know everything
So why are you hiding
It’s written all over your face that you like me
Hey why do you look away
I know everything

When I feel you looking at me
You’re always there (Hey Girl)
When I turn around
Even though I look a couple of times
Even though I pretend not to be surprised
I know why you always are around me

Hey I already know everything
So why are you hiding
It’s written all over your face that you like me
Hey why do you look away
I know everything

You thought that I wouldn’t know that you liked me
That was cute of you (So Cute)
I want to pretend that I don’t know
But I can’t stand it anymore
I know everything come over here
Don’t avoid me anymore

Hey I already know everything
So why are you hiding
It’s written all over your face that you like me
Hey why do you look away
I know everything

Now don’t avoid me anymore and come with me
Look at me don’t be so shy
Don’t be scared even though I’m not good at this either
I think we’ll be a hot couple
Let’s make our first day today
I want to hold your hand and walk around
We’re wasting time what do you want to do
Until when are you going to run from me, huh?

Hey I already know everything
So why are you hiding
It’s written all over your face that you like me
Hey why do you look away
I know everything

Hey I already know everything
So why are you hiding
It’s written all over your face that you like me
Hey why do you look away
I know everything

It’s not working, so stop fronting
I know you want me, let’s start talking
It’s not working, so stop fronting
I know you want me, let’s start talking

Dance

I am an absolute sucker for being able to hear the stomps.  I don’t know what it is about them, but it’s so satisfying to hear that thud each move they make.  In addition, it also helps to emphasize how in sync the group is throughout the dance.  Each of the thuds fell in line with the others, which was amazing!  The dance itself isn’t super complicated until the end where there is a lot of fast footwork, transitions, and, of course, a couple flips.
