Monsta X Trespass Album Overview

Oh, baby, where do I even begin with this one?  First, I should probably start with some sympathy for Monsta X.  The amount of times the boys have been woken up by their own song might lead to some PTSD. Really though, this is a wonderful song.  The sirens give it a hardcore edge to start and definitely lay down some initial expectations.

The music video is really well done, with the jail scenes present, but not overwhelming, and the dancing spot on.  Overall, with the background and the music, the dance and video were really enjoyable and fit the piece.

The interaction in the cells was also great – it was adorable to watch them be ‘badasses’.  This group pulls off the badass vibe a bit better than others I’ve seen.

One of my favorite portions is the escape scene.  It was a good touch to have them running through the dark, creepy tunnel that looks like it’d be featured in some sort of Silent Hill movie.

The vocals in this song are really strong, which wasn’t what I was expecting when I first started listening.  Ironically, with the ‘in your face’ attitude the song puts off, I was expecting far more reliance on the rapping, but the vocals are lovely, regardless of what pitch!  Also, one thing I’ve noticed with most Monsta X songs is the fact that when it comes to high notes, these boys have it down.

Lyrics:

Can you really call this a crime?
Knock knock, I’m going in now
It’s clear you’re gonna be shocked
I’m quickly going in, I’m quickly going in, trespassing
Can you really say you hate this?
Knock knock, I’m going in now
It’s clear your heart will pound
I’m quickly going in, I’m quickly going in, trespassing
Can you really call this a crime?

I’m here because you were too lost (e o e o)
Hey, clean up those silly kids over there (e o e o)
Making a mess here and there. The start was a bit rough
Get up get up get up get up
Can you really tell us to stop?

Look carefully
See how
I will mess up your heart
See how I’ll take care of things
In my eyes,
everything around you is a mess
Look closely from now on

Can you really call this a crime?
Knock knock, I’m going in now
It’s clear you’re gonna be shocked
I’m quickly going in, I’m quickly going in, trespassing
Can you really say you hate this?
Knock knock, I’m going in now
It’s clear your heart will pound
I’m quickly going in, I’m quickly going in, trespassing
Can you really call this a crime?

I’m different from those pretty boys over there
Excuse me, excuse my charisma
I’m gonna be rude and enter your heart
My love knows no manners, excuse my charisma
Young and bad, get used to Jooheon
Monsta X boys on the way man,
I’m going in, be prepared
Get out the way, now be touched

Watch carefully
So rumors can spread far
So you can talk bad about me all you want
so your name can be
hanging off my name
This is how I start
Watch carefully from now on

Can you really call this a crime?
Knock knock, I’m going in now
It’s clear you’re gonna be shocked
I’m quickly going in, I’m quickly going in, trespassing
Can you really say you hate this?
Knock knock, I’m going in now
It’s clear your heart will pound
I’m quickly going in, I’m quickly going in, trespassing
Can you really call this a crime?

It’s the start for you, who is lost
Just watch,
just trust
This is all meaningful noise
So can I finish?

Can you really call this a crime?
Knock knock, I’m going in now
It’s clear you’re gonna be shocked
I’m quickly going in, I’m quickly going in, trespassing
Can you really say you hate this?
Knock knock, I’m going in now
It’s clear your heart will pound
I’m quickly going in, I’m quickly going in, trespassing
Can you really call this a crime?

I think it’s time you stop wandering
I think all the guys around you are done
I don’t even need a key to open you
I’ll just break the door down
Is this a game? Is this a some?
Why are you dragging this out?
I’ll go into your heart and mess it all up
Look at what I did
You think it’s enough? If not me, then who?
So tell me now
Who’s hot and who’s not
